1. Abstract

VEIL is a social ecosystem on Solana built around two core surfaces every modern user already understands: a TikTok-style short-form video feed and an X-style micropost timeline. Discovery is algorithmic, engagement is measurable, and creators earn directly from the audience that consumes their content. The token is the medium of expression inside the app: tips, boosts, gifts, and access flow through VEIL natively.

2. The problem with social today

Modern social platforms have three problems creators feel every day. First, monetisation lives outside the platform — users post on TikTok and X, but earn elsewhere (sponsorships, off-platform shops, ad revenue split they can’t verify). Second, engagement metrics are opaque and easily faked, so quality content gets buried under bot traffic. Third, audiences have no skin in the game — a like costs nothing and means nothing.

VEIL fixes all three by putting value transfer, reputation, and engagement verification on-chain and inside the feed itself.

3. What VEIL is

VEIL is a content-first social network with two complementary surfaces:

Every interaction — watch, like, repost, comment, follow — is verified through the Proof-of-Engagement layer so the numbers you see represent real humans, not bots. Reputation accrues to users who consistently produce or curate content the community actually values.

4. The Content System

Vertical Feed

• Short-form video uploads (typical 10s — 3min range).
• Algorithmic For-You feed: completion rate, repeat watches, share-out, and reputation-weighted signals.
• In-player tipping in VEIL: viewers send VEIL to a creator without leaving the video.
• Boost controls so creators or fans can amplify a piece of content using locked VEIL.

Timeline

• Text-first microposts up to 500 characters, optional media attachments.
• Reposts, quote-reposts, threads, replies, bookmarks.
• Trending tab uses engagement velocity adjusted by reputation, not raw counts.
• Tip and gift live directly in the post UI.

Cross-surface profile

One wallet-bound profile carries video posts, micropost history, follows, and reputation across both surfaces. Users build a single identity, not separate accounts per format.

5. The 9 Utility Layers

VEIL ships in nine sequential utility layers. Foundational systems (Login, Register, Wallet Connection, Referral) are live. The following layers are shipping in order.

6. Proof-of-Engagement & Reputation

Engagement on VEIL is verified before it counts. A view requires meaningful watch time, a like is rate-limited and reputation-weighted, a follow is checked against behavioural and network signals. Once verified, the action accrues to both the actor's reputation and the recipient creator's reach.

• Anti-bot stack: device, behavioural, network, and timing heuristics applied continuously.
• Replay protection: the same action never counts twice.
• Reputation weighting: a like from a high-reputation account amplifies more than a like from a fresh wallet.
• Public penalties: spam patterns trigger transparent throttling, not silent shadowbans.

7. Creator Economy & Token Flow

VEIL is the in-app currency for tipping, boosting, gifting, campaign pools, and access. The flow is direct: audiences pay creators inside the feed, not through opaque platform splits.

Note: token-side mechanics like distribution pools and snapshots are secondary marketing structures layered on top of the social product. The core daily-use surface is the feed itself.

8. Security & Trust

• Wallet identity bound to a profile; restore access protected by a private PIN.
• Rate limits and anomaly detection on every engagement endpoint.
• Anti-bot embedded in Proof-of-Engagement, not bolted on after.
• Transparent moderation: rules, penalties, and appeals are publicly documented.
• VEIL will never ask for seed phrases or passwords. Treat any such request as fraud.

9. Roadmap

Foundational systems are live. The nine utility layers are shipping in sequence.

• Now: Profile System → Social Feed (video + timeline) → Interaction Layer.
• Mid-term: Proof-of-Engagement → Reputation Engine → Campaign System.
